Vortex Corner is an alternative art gallery. Comic book illustrators and authors, tattoo artists, graphic designers, artists who create the visuals for bands: we bring together singular worlds and give their work a form you can hang, wear or collect.
Fine Art prints (including signed and numbered editions), art prints, apparel, collectibles: every piece is chosen with the artist and made by partner workshops we selected one by one.
It all started with parcels
“I wanted to draw, and I ended up shipping parcels.”
We heard that sentence while talking with artists. Comic artists and illustrators all watched shipping eat into their drawing time, and were looking for help, with logistics as much as with their projects. The project grew out of those conversations: letting artists focus on drawing, and no longer have to handle the rest.
On the other side were their readers. Everyone who can't make it to a signing, because they live too far away or life gets in the way, and who until then had no way to hang that work at home.
The Vortex has two founders: Panda, the enthusiast, and Julien, the screen printer. It all started with a slightly crazy conversation between them, and a simple observation: to find what you love, you had to trawl through several websites. What if we brought it all together in one place? The artists, their work, and everything needed to make and deliver it. That became the Vortex.
The artwork, not the poster
An original comic book cover can sell for tens of thousands of euros at auction. Not everyone can afford an original. But everyone should be able to live with the work.
For us it is almost a duty: to offer these images to as many people as possible, at an accessible price, in a quality above what usually goes by the name of “art print”. Not the original, of course. But a real piece of the artwork, in the form it deserves, not just a fan poster.
Artists first
We work directly with each artist: choosing the works, formats and media, then manufacturing, storage and shipping. Artists keep control of their work, we handle the rest, and they are paid on every sale.

The hands behind every piece
A reproduction is only worth something if it does justice to the original. So we entrust each work to workshops chosen for their craftsmanship.
Kyodai Print — art printing
Founded by Pierre, Kyodai Print prints for illustrators, tattoo artists, photographers and graphic designers. Its processes reproduce up to 95–100% of the original colours, from small formats to large posters, with special finishes: gold or silver foil, holographic… It is one of our main partners.
Print T-Shirt — apparel
Based in Nîmes for twenty years, this multidisciplinary ten-person workshop works textiles in every form. For the Vortex, it handles print-on-demand, screen printing and embroidery.
And also
Atelier Fauran for some Fine Art prints, and A3 Prod for storage and shipping. For one-of-a-kind pieces, we rely on specialist suppliers: Georges Douna builds our guitars, and Locus Mate customises our arcade cabinets.
